Missionary Internships

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:37-38

We are excited about what God is doing here at the Shiloh Mission and want to see our model of Gospel proclamation replicated.  The missionary internship is for those who are interested in learning how to engage their communities with the gospel using a small farm, agricultural model.

As a missionary gardener you will learn and practice three primary fields: How to evangelize and disciple in a natural working context, small scale, intensive organic farming, and how to engage the community with the gospel through a small business.  We are looking for those eager to see God’s kingdom expand and stick their fingers in the dirt!

In short, we want to train and equip other missionaries to go and be workers in God’s harvest field.

Being in the Shiloh garden this summer was a phenomenal experience! Working alongside the Shiloh team and other interns was a great opportunity to practice sharing my faith and learn practical gardening skills.

I am super grateful for my time at Mission Shiloh! Also, the basil leaves make a great snack.

John Michael, summer intern 2025

Working at the garden this summer gave me the sense of making a lasting economical change. The lessons I learned and the relationships I built will forever enrich my experience.

Angelica, summer intern 2025

Why join our internship programme?

If you are considering long term missions and love to work outside…you should totally keep reading!
  1. Evangelism and Discipleship at Work

The overly quoted statistic is still true. In our lives we spend more waking hours at work than any other place. Learning to tell others what Jesus has done for them at work is a fundamental concept.

What better place to do it than in a garden. The place where it all got started, the place where the Savior suffered, the place where it will all end.

  2. Small Scale, Intensive Vegetable Farming

While learning to disciple others you will also learn the technical side of small scale, organic vegetable farming. From crop planning, to transplant, to harvest and sales, you will leave the program with a deeper agricultural knowledge and practical skill set.

  3. Be Sent!

We are looking for those who are interested in training with us and then going and doing the same thing elsewhere. We want to see the kingdom of God expand beyond the borders of Mission Shiloh. We want to send out workers into his harvest field.
